Overview

Mongolia is one of the world’s last unspoilt destinations. It is a land of mystery, of extremes, of immeasurable space, where shamanism is still practised and people hunt with eagles. This is a land as diverse as it is dramatic, from the rugged mountains and dense forests of the north, to the lush grasslands of the central plains and the rolling desert dunes of the south. This is a land where culture, history and landscape are inextricably entwined, where nomadic herders still roam the vast steppe as they have since the time of Genghis Khan, and where the hospitality of its people is as boundless as its terrain. One of the most beautiful places of Mongolia is Khuvsgul Lake. Khuvsgul is the deepest and freshest lake. Also Northern Mongolia is called Mongolian Switzerland because it is completely covered with green forest and grassland. The Lake is more than 2 million years old and was created by ancient glacier process. This tour offers you to discover part of Central and Northern Mongolia

Itinerary

Day-1.Amarbayasgalant Monastery

At the end of the day visit to “Amarbayasgalant” monastery and enjoy the other nice monuments. It is ever beautiful and hidden jewel known as Amarbayasgalant monastery which is situated in the Iven river valley. The monastery was established in 1727-1736 in memory of Undur Gegeen Zanabazar at the order of the Manchurian emperor. Overnight in Ger camp ( L D )

Day-2. Uran togoo volcanic crater

Our destination for today is Uran togoo. Its about 60 kilometer directly west of Bulgan city is the extinct volcano of Uran Uul and nearby Togoo Uul, now part of the 1600 hectare Uran Togoo-Tulga Uul natural reserve in the village of Khutag-Ondor. Trial to the top of the relatively unimpressive volcano lead up from the west side, which also have some nice camping areas. The Uran Togoo-Tulga Uul national monument is a national protected area in the Bulgan province. This mountain ranks as 4th highest mountain and its protected in 1965. In 1995, it was designated as a monument by Parliament Resolution with an area of 5800 hectares. Overnight in Ger camp ( B L D )

Day-3.Khovsgol lake

Early in the morning we will drive to great Khovsgol lake. The lake is the second fresh water lake in Asia and second large lake in Mongolia with its 136 km long and 36 km wide and 264 meter deep. Overnight in Ger camp ( B L D )

Day-4.Second day at the Khovsgol lake

Taking rest and do some activities including boating and trekking up to mountain. Do horse riding around the Lake. Overnight in Ger camp ( B L D )

Day-5.Zuun Lake

This large lake is the scenic highlight of Khövsgöl's far south. There is excellent camping all around. This blue dollop of water is located 13km north of Shine-Ider village and about 100km southwest of Mörön. That night we will do wild camping. Overnight in ( B L D )

Day-6.Terkh White Lake

After breakfast we will drive to White lake(Terkh). The lake was formed by lava flows from a volcanic eruption many millennia ago. This is 2060m a.s.l, 16 km long, 4-10 km wide, 20 m deep fresh water lake . Overnight in Ger camp ( B L D )

Day-7.Khorgo Volcanic Crater

This day is no driving and bit relaxing day. Hike or horse trekking to the Khorgo volcano. It is the last volcano which extinct around 9000 years ago. 2240m high a.s.l. Swimming and fishing is possible for the personal interest. Overnight in Ger camp ( B L D )

Day-8.Tsenher hot spring

After breakfast we will drive to the Tsenher Hot Spring. The SPA is +86C hot. Here you will have opportunities to have bath in the healing spa. The spring consists of elements such as sulphur and calcium.Relax in the hot spa. Overnight in Ger camp ( B L D )

Day-9.Orkhon Waterfall

We will visit to Uurt gorge, Orkhon river, and the Red waterfall in Orkhon valley. The red waterfall is situated in historically significant Orkhon valley, whose river flows an incredible 1120 km to the north before it joins the Selenge river. Also called Ulaantsutgalan, the waterfall was formed by unique combination of volcanic eruptions and earthquakes about 20000 years ago. Overnight in Ger camp ( B L D )

Day-10.Semi-Desert /Elsen Tasarkhai/ “Khogno Khan natural reserve”

After breakfast we will go to Semi-Desert. Khogno Khan mountain Natural Reserve it is about 1967m peak area. This area has unique combination of Mongolian mountain, forest and gobi type landscape in one location. That’s why this area is called Semi Gobi by the locals. Overnight in local nomad family ( B L D )
