Bayan-Olgii, Khovd, Ulaangom, Uliastai, Govi-Altai provinces are in the west part of Mongolia. 16 ethnic groups are in this region. Their cultures and lifestyles are totally different than others. So its very interesting for tourists. In this part there are many beautiful lakes, mountains to visit. The most interesting thing is the culture of Mongolia’s largest ethnic minority of the Khazakhs. These Khazakh speaking nomads are predominantly Muslim. Still they hunt with their trained eagles in the winter months and you will have the opportunity to see these magnificent birds during your travels. Here is also some wild animals living. The snow covered peak of Mongolian Altai mountain Range rise up to 4400 m a.s.l and you will find here remote alpine lakes teeming with fish, ancient stone monument, intricate rock paintings and ancient Turkish burial grounds, swift rivers, larch forests and valleys strewn with wildflowers.

Day 1 Amarbayasgalant Monastery
At the end of the day visit to “Amarbayasgalant” monastery and enjoy the other nice monuments. It is ever beautiful and hidden jewel known as Amarbayasgalant monastery which is situated in the Iven river valley. The monastery was established in 1727-1736 in memory of UndurGegeenZanabazar at the order of the Manchurian emperor. Overnight in a Ger camp
Day 2 Urantogoo volcanic crater
Our destination for today is Urantogoo. Its about 60 kilometer directly west of Bulgan city is the extinct volcano of UranUul and nearby TogooUul, now part of the 1600 hectare UranTogoo-TulgaUul natural reserve in the village of Khutag-Ondor. Trial to the top of the relatively unimpressive volcano lead up from the west side, which also have some nice camping areas. The UranTogoo-TulgaUul national monument is a national protected area in the Bulgan province. This mountain ranks as 4th highest mountain and its protected in 1965. In 1995, it was designated as a monument by Parliament Resolution with an area of 5800 hectares. Overnight in a Ger camp
Day 3 Khovsgol lake
Early in the morning we will drive to great Khovsgollake. The lake is the second fresh water lake in Asia and second large lake in Mongolia with its 136 km long and 36 km wide and 264 meter deep. Overnight in a Ger camp
Day 4 Second day at Khovsgol lake
This day is no driving, relaxing and will do horse riding or hiking around the Lake “Khovsgol”. Overnight in a Ger camp
Day 5 Tsetserleg village
Today we will drive to Tsetserleg village pass through Moron city. Stay around this village. Overnight in a wild camping.
Day 6 Altan Els- Golden Sand
In the morning we will head to Uvslake. On the way we will stay near AltanEls – Golden Sand. Overnight in a wild camping.
Day 7 Uureg lake via Uvs lake
Today we will drive to Uvs, Uureg lakes. It is the Largest lake of Mongolia by surface water. The shallow lake lies near the north frontier of the country where it UVs aimag borders with Russia, in the Depression of Great lakes. The Uvs lake lying in Desert and desert steppe at an altitude of 76 meters above sea level is surrounded by Large marshes in the north and the world’s northernmost sand dunes of AltanEls( Golden sand) in the eastern shore.-26,27. Day 8 Tsagaan Nuur village
This day we will drive to Tsagaannuur village pass through Bayan Olgii province. We will take a permission here. Overnight in a Ger camp
Day 9, 10, 11 Altai Tavan Bogd National Park
After breakfast start drive to Altai TavanBogd (Five Saints National Park). It is the highest peaks in the Mongol Altai Range which stretches some 2000 km from the Gobi desert to the Greater Himalaya in Pakistan. The Five Saints includes Mt Huiten(4354). It locates near the northwestern border of Mongolia. Overnight in a Ger camp. (Wild camping is available)
Day 12 Kazak family at Bayan Olgii Province
After hiking or trekking to the Altai 5 Bogd Mountain come back to the center of the Olgii Province and stay overnight in a Kazak family.
Day 13 Khovd province – Tolbo Lake
Early morning we will drive to Khovd province via Tolbo Lake. It is 50 kilometres towards South of Ölgii, in the center of the province Bayan-Ölgii, there is Tolbo Lake, ”stain lake”. It extends on 185 square kilometres in the heart of the Altai range, at more than 2000 metres above the sea level. Tolbo Lake’s water is particularly clear. The road that leads there passes along glaciers and, in Winter, it’s possible to move on the iced lake.The lake was the witness of the battle of Tolbolake (1921) during the Russian civil war, when the Bolsheviks allied to the Mongolians defeated a White Russians army. You can spot by the lake a couple of memorial plaques. Overnight in a Ger camp
Day 14 Hyargas Lake
Today’s destination is Hyargaslake. It is one of the largest lakes of Mongolia, lies about 100 km south of lakeUvs in the territory of the Deprission of Great Lakes. The Zavkhanriver feeds Airag Lake, which is further connected to Hyargas lake that has not outlet. The salt water lake, stretching from west to east, is 75 km long and 31 km wide. Several of fish including the rare Mongolian grayling lives in Hyargas Lake. Overnight in a tourist camp
Day 15 Telmen Lake
Early morning we will drive to Telmen Lake. Telmenlake is a saltwater lake in Zavkhan, Mongolia. Three islands are located in the lake, which is a gathering point for migratory birds. Overnight in a wild camping
Day 16 Terkh White Lake
After breakfast we will drive to White lake(Terkh). The lake was formed by lava flows from a volcanic eruption many millennia ago This is 2060m a.s.l, 16 km long, 4-10 km wide, 20 m deep fresh water lake . Overnight in a Ger
Day 17 Khorgo volcanic crater
This day is no driving and bit relaxing day. Hike or horse trekking to the Khorgo volcano. It is the last volcano which extinct around 9000 years ago. 2240m high a.s.l. Swimming and fishing is possible for the personal interest. Overnight in a Ger camp
Day 18 Tsenher hot spring
After breakfast we will drive to the Tsenher Hot Spring. The SPA is +86C hot. Here you will have opportunities to have bath in the healing spa. The spring consists of elements such as sulphur and calcium.Relax in the hot spa. Overnight in a tourist camp.
Day 19 Orkhon Waterfall
We will visit to Uurt gorge, Orkhon river, and the Red waterfall in Orkhon valley. Prepare for the next few days Horse trekking. The red waterfall is situated in historically significant Orkhon valley, whose river flows an incredible 1120 km to the north before it joins the Selenge river. Also called Ulaantsutgalan, the waterfall was formed by unique combination of volcanic eruptions and earthquakes about 20000 years ago. Overnight in a Ger camp
Day 20 Kharkhorin – Erdene Zuu Monastery
Early morning we will start drive to Kharkhorin ancient capital city and will visit to the ErdeneZuu Monastery. It’s a ancient capital city called kharkhorin where developed Kharakhorum capital of Great Mongolian Empire in 13th century. Explore ErdeneZuu Monastery Musuem. It is a biggest Buddhist center in medieval ages and it was closed and badly damaged in 1930s. Visit to some other sightseeing. Overnight in a Ger camp
Day 21 Ongi Temple
After breakfast we will drive to Ongi and visit to the ruins of the temple.Ongi temple is a ruin of a big monastery on the bank of Ongi River. The river is about 500 kilometer long takes beginning from Khangai Mountain Range flows into UlaanNuur. This monastery has 28 temples and other buildings on the south slope of the Rocky Mountain like Balsa country and stupas which are not broken. This monastery had 1000 lamas and it was destroyed during the Stalinist purges in 1930s. Overnight in a Ger camp
Day 22 Bayan Zag – Flaming Cliff
Today we will drive to the homeland of Dinosour Fossils to explore it. This is Neolithic site where the large dinosaurs' skeletons on show in Ulaanbaatar Natural History Museum were found. In the west, it is better known as the Flaming Cliffs so named explorer Roy Chapman Andrews. He also discovered petrified forests remain of mammals and in particular the skeleton of hornless rhinoceros, the largest known mammal in the world. Overnight in a Ger camp.
Day 23 Khongor sand dune
After breakfast we will drive to KhongoriinEls which is called the “Singing Dune” for the sound of the wind howling through the dunes. Its over 180 km long, 3-5 km wide, lowest point 10m high, highest point is 200-300 m high from the earth. Its around 1530-1600 meter a.s.l. This is one of the largest and most spectacular sand dunes and a cold water spring with a river that leads to two small ponds. Overnight in a Ger camp
Day 24 Second day at the Khongor sand dune
Today we have no driving and we will ride a Camel around the dune and will climb to the top of the Singing dune in the evening to see the Great Sunset. Overnight in a Ger camp
Day 25 Yol valley – Gobi Three Beauty National Park
After breakfast we will start drive to the “Gobi Three Beauties” National Park and will hike to the narrow ice canyon. It is called Yoliin am (Volture’smounth) by the locals is one of the main attractions in the Gobi for its stunning vistas. This area is a home to endangered snow-leopards and Lammergeyers(Bearded Vulture) where “eternal ice” usually remains throughout summer. There you guys might see some wild animals. Day 26 Tsagaan suvraga – White stupa
Early morning we will start drive to WhiteStupa which is located in UlziitSoum, MIddle Gobi. The name TsagaanSuvarga (White Stupa) is given by local people to the impressive and legendary cliff which is eroded by natural phenomen on. Having 10 million years history, the cliff indicates different times by its colored layers. TsagaanSuvarga is interesting to see the sheer slope, facing east, which from a distance seems to be the ruins of the ancient city. Enjoy hiking around colorful Stupa, feeling like meditation in there. Overnight in a Ger camp
Day 27 Baga Gazriin Chuluu – Small Rock Formation
Our destination for today Bagagazriinchuluu /rock formation/ is a 15 km long and 10 km wide stone massif, is located Middle Gobi. Over 20 kinds of medical herbs and many species of animals such as wild sheep, ibex and marmot exist here, if you have chance you might the wild animals. Surtiinam is one of many beautiful places in Bagagazriin stone massif. This is a narrow canyon with asp, birch, white whicker and elm tree, as well the ruin of a stone temple and the site of 2 yurts where monks lived and meditated since the seventieth century. Day 28 Terelj National Park.
Today we will drive to Terelj National Park. It is about 80 km north-east of UB, is a deservedly popular destination. At 1600 meter, the area is cool and alpine scenery is magnificent, and there are great opportunities for hiking, climbing and do horse riding. The park is over 102 million hectares large. The landscape is looking a little bit like the Alps. It is a national park that is started to develop in the 1960s and officially was classified as a national park in 1994. It is almost uninhabited by humans only by a few nomads and farmers. Overnight in a Ger
Day 29 Back to UB via Chinggis Statue.
Do horse riding to Aryabal meditation temple and then Chinggis statue. ChinggisKhaan statue complex is a 40meter tall, ChinggisKhaan on horseback, on the bank of the Tuulriver at TsonjinBoldog 54 kilometer east of the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar. Where according to legend of that he found golden whip. The statue is symbolically pointed east towards his birthplace. It is on top of the Statue Complex, a visitor center, itself 10 meter tall with 36 columns representing the 36 Khaans from Chinggis to LigdenKhaan. It was built in 2006.
